SEMINARIO INTERNACIONAL DE TRISTAO DA CUNHA
Durante el ultimo fin de semana tuvimos la visita de Tristao Da Cunha Sensei. quien vino desde Portugal para dirigir su segundo seminario en Santiago; 7mo Dan de Iwama Ryu, estudió muchos años con el ya fallecido Hitohiro Sensei en Japón.
Este fue mi primer seminario con Sensei Tristao y verdaderamente pienso que es un muy buen maestro. Pasamos el Viernes 22, Sábado 23 y parte del Domingo 24 revisando técnicas Kihon y por sobre todo Bukiwaza. Para verdaderamente comprender cualquier técnica de Aikido el Iwama Ryu es muy aclarador. No es cuestion de fuerzas sino de un foco en donde y cómo moverse. Yo destacaría las enseñanzas de armas porque estas son las raíces de cualquier movimiento de Aikido. Lo que me gustó más fue lo que nos transmitió sobre su entendimiento de lo que es Budo y el rol del Aikido en este concepto japonés. Por sobre todo diría que Sensei Tristao ha pensado profundamente cada enseñanza escrita del Fundador y ha llegado a comprender muchas de ellas. Mi conclusión, como siempre, tomarse las cosas con seriedad pero a un ritmo de aprendizaje pausado, si te apresuras no llegarás a ninguna parte.

During last weekend we were visited by Tristao Da Cunha Sensei. who came from Portugal to teach his second seminar in Santiago; 7th Dan Iwama Ryu, he studied many years under late Saito Hitohiro Sensei in Japan. It was ny first time in one of his seminars and I truely think that he is a very good teacher. We spent Friday 22nd,Saturday 23rd and part of Sunday 24th reviewing kihon techniques and mostly the basics of Bukiwaza. To really understand any technique Iwama Ryu is extremely clarifying. Is not a matter of thoughness but focus on where and how to move. I would remark the weapons teachings cose this are the roots of any movement in Aikido. What I liked most of the classes was the deep understanding of what is Budo and the roll of Aikido among these Japanese term. Further more I would say that Tristao Sensei has deeply thought every written teaching of O Sensei and has come to a great understanding of many of them. My conclusion, as always, take things seriuosly but take a slow pase in learning, if you rush you will get nowhere.
